Thrift Store Winter Swap Reveal!

December 3, 2015

ThriftStoreSwap#3

Redgreet

We are on our THIRD swap reveal today! If you are new to the Thrift Store Swap, let me explain what it is. 12 crafty ladies are challenged to buy and swap $10 worth of random Thrift Store treasures. Here’s the catch, these bloggers have NEVER met each other in person! We also don’t have a say to WHAT is being sent to us.

Not only are we repurposing someone’s thrifted junk into something new and improved but we are going to show you how it’s done. It is also amazing to see someone’s innovation as to what the objects should become. Last swap, Emily from Small Stuff Counts blew me away with her Thrifted Wine Box to Pretty Tea Box. I sent her the wine box and never thought it would turn into something so pretty! It’s been hard waiting so “patiently” to see what Erlene from My Pinterventures has done with her items.

Let’s get down to business! Lindsay from My Creative Days sent me these things below. She spoiled me with getting such great swap items, don’t you think? I’m never lucky enough to find such cool stuff!

Before

Antique Box Transformation

I was too nervous to attempt taking this box apart so I knew the shape would be as is. It has A LOT of personality with marks, rusty nails and colors. I wish I knew the story behind it! Check out the before shots.

Box Collage

I’ll show you how I achieved this makeover in a future post but you will be surprised at how EASY this transformation was with the right materials. Keep an eye out for this antique box transformation tutorial next week!

After

Gold/Silver Frames

Before

I have a theme going on here with my projects. It will be obvious once you see my next project! To transform these frames, it was as simple as gluing ribbon on.

Before (1)

Mini Christmas Tree Transformation

Before (2)

My theme of Vintage Christmas was inspired by the burlap in this tree.

Before (3)

If you like the handmade ornaments and would like to make your own, check out the full tutorial HERE.

There you have it! These additions to my Christmas decor are lovely. My children get to decorate the big tree and the mini tree is for mom only, I love it!

Make a Vintage Christmas out of Thrift Store Items! Easy, DIY, Christmas on a budget.

I sent these items to Erlene in My Pinterventures. She does a FANTASTIC job at upcycling these items!

Love how you created an entire vignette out of the items you received. I especially like how you added words to the box but kept the vintage look.
