5 Tips to Maximize Your Time

November 21, 2015

Why maximize your time? Because life is hectic! We Moms need to make more time for ourselves. It is challenging but not impossible. Take it from me (a Mom, Blogger and Full-time Student) there are ways to make the most of the time that we are allotted. It’s all about staying positive, motivated and prioritizing. Even idle time can be beneficial.

5 Tips to maximize your time

Prepare freezer crock pot meals to maximize your time. Check out other ways on MidMichiganMom.com

Freezer Crockpot Meals

These meals can be a busy mom’s best friend. Maximize your time by making several meals at once to freeze for the future. Do this on the weekend or a day when you can spare a few hours. Not only will it save time in the future but it also cuts down on dishes. SCORE! It is so nice to put a frozen meal in the crock pot, set it and forget it until Dinner. It cuts down on stress tremendously.

Prepare Lunches in Bulk

This is a similar concept to the freezer meals. Making lunch for the whole week means that the dishes will not have to be washed 5 separate times. It makes life easier during hectic mornings and it is MUCH healthier. You can control the portions, use fresh ingredients, and avoid adding unnecessary ingredients such as MSGs and salt. This saves on time, calories AND money!

Maximize Idle Time

Idle time can be beneficial too.   Next time you are waiting in line, catch up on emails. Check out more ways to maximize your time on MidMichiganMom.com

Do you arrive early for after school pick up? At my kids’ school, there are people who arrive 45 minutes early for the prime spot in the pick-up lane! 45 minutes! That is the perfect time to study for a school exam, meal plan or how about reaching out to a friend who you haven’t heard from in a while? I do the same when I am waiting for soccer practice to finish. Are you stuck in a long line at the supermarket? Idle times like this are prime times to catch up on emails. Utilize this time to plan or prioritize what needs to be done the next day. I also use this time to peruse the mobile mPerks site to find coupons that I can use.

Making a list (but only if it motivates you)

Maximize time by making lists. This will help you prioritize and plan for the tasks of the next day. Check out more tips at MidMichiganMom.com

To do lists sometimes stress people out, so if this is you, take my advice with a grain of salt. To-do lists work for me and my type A personality. It motivates me. It makes me work efficiently. It helps me prioritize and focus on one task at a time. It reminds me of what needs to be done because I am forever scatterbrained.  If this sounds like you, chances are that you are already doing this…if not, start today.

Choose to Shop Wisely

Shop wisely, maximize your time by doing all of your shopping in one location. Check out more ways at MidMichiganMom.com

Why go to five separate stores when you can go to one and get EVERYTHING you need? I am all for non-stop shopping. I buy from supermarkets such as Meijer to save time and seriously all moms will agree with me, time is PRECIOUS! I buy everything from groceries to craft supplies to clothing all in one shot. No wasted time looking for parking spaces, waiting in lines and dealing with traffic.

Hopefully, this gives you some hope and insight on maximizing your time. I’m excited to announce that I have teamed up with Meijer and P&G to give you this fabulous giveaway. Good luck!

Great list. I couldn’t live without my crockpot. It allows me to throw dinner in the morning and then not have to think about it again for the rest of the day. Plus if you’re busy with after school and evening events you can still sqeeze in a good meal for the family. Thanks for sharing!

Crockpot meals are indeed a good way to save time. For work, I set out my outfit the night before, so I can just grab and go, too.

I love pre-planning my meals. I have also done the crockpot freezer meals and absolutely love doing that. I have also pre-made lunches (before my kids learned to do it all themselves) and anything that I can do ahead of time is better for me.
