It’s February! February is a huge month for my family this year. It has always held significance because of a birthday and Valentine’s Day but this year we are going on our very first trip to Disney World! Only 27 more days until I get to see my little girl’s eyes light up when she sees Elsa. Hopefully, my son has outgrown his fear of giant characters. We took him to Tokyo Disney when he was 3 and he attacked Abu (monkey from Aladdin). It was sad, yet amusing. Also, for all of you TWD (The Walking Dead) fans out there, you can snuggle with your honey while you watch the continuation of season 6. How exciting!
Ha! I’m getting off topic here! Let’s go back to the upcoming holiday, Valentine’s Day. As with all holidays, one can go as big or as small as they want in celebrating this holiday. Some claim that it’s a holiday for card companies and jewelry stores while others use this time to show others that they care. I represent the latter, which is why I’ve compiled some awesome gifts ideas for the kids in your life!
Before I shower you with gift ideas for our little humans, don’t forget to remember the people who impact them. I have a sweet gift idea for teachers and a tutorial of a hand-made gift for friends to check out as well.
For Girls
Heart Shaped Jewelry
Whether your little girl is a diva or a princess, she’ll love heart-shaped accessories. Bracelets like this one from Gymboree are age generic enough to be given to a preschooler or tween. Bonus: if mom gets jewelry too, this will make your little girl feel like “a big girl”.
Toms
These are adorable enough to wear long after Valentine’s Day!
My four-year-old received a very large pink bear last Valentine’s Day and a year later she still cuddles with it every night. The bear is large enough for her to carry but it is more than half her length. It has turned into a pillow, a friend, and a comfort item. If you child still loves stuffed animals, an extra large bear (for example a 30″) or something similar will be a special Valentine’s treat.

Book about them or “Story of You”
It’s all about showing love and affection. Why not make a book all about them? My kids are still preteen and they love looking at pictures of themselves as babies. Shutterfly has a Make My Book Service which makes putting together your own book easy peasy. You can always make your own, but having a hard bound book makes it legit.
Introduce your children to the Mad Libs comical fun of random adverbs and adjectives. Not only will this give your kids a glimpse of what WE did for fun as kids but it will also help them hone their skills in grammar. They won’t even know what hit them, YES! These are meant to be sent as Valentines but can be used purely for silly entertainment as well.
If you missed out on this fun game during the holidays, now is your chance to get it! Spend Valentine’s Day with the ones you love and maybe show them you care with a pie in the face.
For Boys
Boys fashion can be so fun! Why not poke fun at the holiday a bit? Valentine’s day doesn’t always have to be lovey dovey.
Do you have other individuals to shop for this Valentine’s Day? I have teamed up with a few other blogs to give you more gift guides. Lisa, from Five Kids, a Dog and a Blog coordinated this endeavor and has compiled gift guides For the Teacher and For Single Friends. Make sure to check out her guides as well as the other guides below!
Hopefully, you have some inspiration to make this Valentine’s Day special! What are you giving your little-loved one this year? We would love to hear about it in the comments.
