What happens when you forget to wear green on St. Patrick’s Day? You. get. PINCHED. I can take the assaults but I don’t want my kids to, therefore, I make sure that they are covered every year.
When I heard about this Dollar Store challenge, I knew that I wanted to make a craft with my kids. Read on to see how my daughter made her shirt (seen above).

The premise of this challenge was to keep supplies under $10. I did just that!
Materials:
- Dollar store
- Pencils (check your junk drawer or raid your child’s back pack)
- (or color of preference)
- (I used gold, light and dark green)
Tutorial:
Not only is this project budget friendly but it is kid friendly too. I bought the supplies and let my daughter go to town. She loved it!
Grab a clean for your project. Place something IN the shirt to avoid the paint from bleeding through to the back. I used a box for this purpose.
Place foam in the location that you want. You can tape the foam shamrocks to the to keep them in place. We just held ours, taking extra care not to move the shamrocks in the process.
Grab your and pencils. Dip the eraser side of the pencil into the paint and blot it onto the . Make sure to focus on the area around the shamrock. Use different pencils for each color to prevent the colors from mixing. I used one pencil for the gold (to maintain pure gold color) and one for the greens. I did not care if the greens mixed.
Once you have the desired effect. Let dry and wear!
Easy peasy right? Your child will be proud to wear their because THEY made it. That my friends, is more important than perfection!
