The end of football season is among us. No matter which team you follow, there is bound to be excitement and a little “healthy” competition involved. Why bog down YOUR excitement and energy with a ton of party prep? If party planning is not YOUR thing, keep reading!
3 Tips for an AWESOME yet LOW MAINTENANCE Party!!
1) Buy what you can.
There is something to be said with convenience when you are busy with work, raising well behaved human beings or whatever tasks life has thrown at you. The fantastic part about letting someone else cook or bake for you is that it doesn’t have to be expensive. Sam’s Club has a Coca-Cola and Pizza Bundle that is a dinner saver for any day of the week. It is also a dream when planning for an upcoming football party. Each Coca-Cola Pizza Bundle comes with a 16 Inch Pizza, Cheesy Breadsticks, Cookies and a 2 L bottle of Coca-Cola…all for $13.98. Even with coupons, I can’t find a bargain like that anywhere else (and certainly not one that tastes as yummy). This deal is available at any Sam’s Club. There is no need to pick up all the individual items, you simply visit the Café! They make it easy to pick up and bring home to your hungry crew.
Check out the Café some time. After a tiring day of shopping, it can be just what you need to give you a second wind to finish the rest of your errands.
2) Why reinvent the wheel? Use printables…like mine!
The football for the football party is so overdone, why not use some of the other aspects that bring drama to the big game! There is no need to waste precious time by trying to design your own party decor and if it is something that you loathe, I have you covered! There are FREE resources available such as these First down marker flags! Check out the tutorial below on how you can get the look in 3 easy steps!
3) Keep it simple and disposable.
The key to a low maintenance party is to keep it simple! Choose 2-4 colors (I used black, white, orange and a little yellow) and run with it. Buy disposable cups (like my referee-inspired cups). Provide a black marker near the cups for people to write their names. Use paper plates to make clean up easier. Speaking of clean up, isn’t it wonderful that you won’t have to clean up a messy kitchen after cooking? YES!
To display my cheese sticks, I used the original container, some grass scrapbook paper and this first down marker printable. Easy Peasy.
Ok, Ok so I have ONE football shaped item in my tablescape, but these cookies look so delicious that it’s hardly noticeable.
Are you loving these cupcake toppers? Lucky you, it’s a free printable! Get it here.
Football Down Marker Flags
These flags are super easy to make!
Materials:
- Cardstock, Black and White (4 each)
- Printer
- These Printables: First Down, Second Down, Third Down and Fourth Down
- Scissors and glue stick
How to do it:
- Use the white card stock to print out the printables. Regular weight copy paper can be used in a pinch but you risk bubbles. For best results, use card stock or heavy weight paper.
- Use the template on each number to cut the black cardstock into the flag shape. Cut out the orange number. **IMPORTANT** Leave about 1/4” white space AROUND the orange numbers. This white space is what achieves the look!
- Glue the orange/white numbers to the flags, punch holes where desired, run orange rope and hang!
Next time you have to plan a football themed party, don’t stress yourself or break the bank. Simply head over to Sam’s Club and pick up their Coca-Cola and Pizza Bundle! Make sure to pin these printables to save them for later!
