Last fall, I brought home a junky dresser. I had big plans for the dresser, but it got too cold to paint a week after I brought it home. Much to my husband’s dismay, the dresser hung out in various areas of our home during winter, spring and most of fall. The threats of trashing my beloved find motivated me to start the “Spray it Pretty” transformation asap.
I am oozing with excitement to participate in The Fab Furniture Flippin’ Contest! The timing was perfect (huge smile). This contest is sponsored by Homeright.
HomeRight specializes in DIY tools such as paint sprayers, shelters and heat guns. I got a fancy new paint sprayer to try on my project. Whoo hoo!
Here is the dresser that I saved all winter long. I was fed up with stepping on plastic rings and finding tutus all over my home. It was time for this piece to transform into a princess closet!
We repaired as much damage as we could with wood filler, removed the back, hardware and top drawer (it was also damaged). When it was all said and done I manually removed over 40 screws.
Next, I primed and painted. and finished off with a layer of glitter spray paint and protective finish.
My daughter was ecstatic to have a home for all of her girly things…and so was I.
These represent “Ice” for her Frozen themed room. It also matches her curtain rods.
Thank you HomeRight for sponsoring our contest!

Thank you Evey from Evey’s Creation and Lynn from On Fern Avenue for hosting this fun contest for us!
Evey created a project to match her daughter’s Frozen themed desk. My daughter would happily leave me to live with Evey if she ever saw the desk, which is why I am glad that she is watching Dora right now. Disownment averted!
Lynn gave her Gossip chair a fresh new makeover. Honestly, I’m a fan of BOTH versions of her gossip chair. If you are a fan of furniture facelifts, check her out, she is a master!
Interested DIY bloggers who would like to participate in future Fab Flippin’ Furniture Contests should email . They have several fabulous hosts who will point you to the appropriate Facebook group to apply!
What do you think of my Ugly Dresser to Princess Closet transformation? Do you think I “Sprayed it Pretty”?
