DIY Halloween Candy Cat Party Favors

October 19, 2015

These DIY Halloween Cat Party Favors are easy to make, decorative and portions out candy fairly!

It’s party time again! Are you ready? I’m getting there (I think). I love decorating for class parties, but clean up is never fun. Most parents just want to grab their child and beat the rush out of the parking lot-ahem, or maybe that’s just me.

Party favors are the way to go for school shin-digs because they serve 2 purposes. They decorate the table/room and they portion out the goodies. We all know that kids can be ruthless when it comes to grabbing candy, which is why I will never EVER have a Pinata at school. My son comes home with enough black eyes as it is.

You will be surprised at how ridiculously simple this project is and chances are you have the supplies on hand. If you don’t have a secret stash of googly eyes no judgement here. That may be the only item that you have to actually purchase.

Materials:03-DSC_0324

Toilet paper rolls

Black paint (or markers)

Googly eyes

Pink felt (or construction paper)

Black paper

White-out pen

Glue and scissors

Get the look:

Paint black or color with a black marker

Next, unroll just a little for the tail. Paint the exposed area black.

This will help stabilize the cat favor when it is full of goodies!

painted with tail

Shape a tail with black construction paper. Glue to the portion that you unrolled and painted.

Grab your nose and eyes.

Ears

Glue those on as well.

Now it’s time to shape the ears. Cut the ears then trim all around the roll to make the ears stand out.

Glue on your felt ears. Draw whiskers and a mouth using a white-out pen.

Then fill with candy!!

Pretty easy right? I also like how these are not too scary for the little kids. I was this close (shows a little pinch) of making little clowns…but I didn’t want to give myself nightmares.

Make adorable little Halloween candy cat favors out of TP rolls!

What do you think of my Halloween Cat Party Favors? Let me know if you are going to try to make these!

Love these! So simple to make and they look great. I like the idea of it sharing the candy out fairly too.
