A friend and I tried to implement a Thrift Store Swap locally…then summer came and we kind of forgot that we were doing a swap. Eventually, one of the items (a ceramic candle topper) was murdered in a tragic garage cleaning incident.
I still intend on repurposing my items…but I’m not in such a hurry anymore. I was able to repurpose ONE of the items into an adorable gift for a mom to be. Check out what I did!
Exhibit A
and very appropriate for my home…
First, I ripped off the cute little wooden bowl and rolling pin. I have a plan for those guys, my future Fairy Garden will be well equipped! The whole piece was sanded to remove glue residue and to remove some paint from the edges.
This lovely textured paper was left over from a recent Silhouette Project. It was used as a background for this project as well. I used a glue stick to apply the textured paper to the board. Next, do a dry fit and decide how the letters are to go on the board.
I moved ONE scrabble tile to mark where I would start.
Once the N was super glued down, the rest of the tiles were lined off of it.
Modge Podge to seal and protect. Let dry.
The finished product.
I have done this for my children’s names too. Ahem, yes I have a lot of Scrabble tiles…hence the need for my spiffy tile storage.
What do you think of this as a baby shower gift? What kind of twist would you add to this project to make it even more fun?
Thank you for visiting =)
